Friday, March 2nd - Grand Marshal / Person of the Year Meet and Greet

Due to the overwhelming response we have had this year for our Grand Marshal / Person of the Year Reception we are pleased to announce a second opportunity for friends and family to celebrate with this year's honorees. On Friday, March 2, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the downstairs lounge of the Irish American Home Society the Central Connecticut Celtic Cultural Committee will host a cocktail reception for those who were unable to attend the dinner. Admission is $15.00 and will include lite fare. Tickets can be purchased in advance by calling Mary Lynch at 860-462-2881 or at the door.

Sunday, March 4th - Annual Corned Beef Dinner

Corned Beef Dinner, Sunday March 4, 2012, 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.Join us for our annual Corned Beef Dinner featuring tender Corned Beef, prepared under the direction of those legendary cooks, John Harrington and Stan Tuller! Served with cabbage, potato, carrots, dinner rolls and Irish Soda Bread.Adults: $12.00 Kids: $7.00 We will be serving hot dogs for the wee ones…$3.00 with chips!


Saturday, March 10th - Parade Day

Join us after the parade for food, music and lots of fun! We’ll be serving corned beef sandwiches all day and evening…and a hot dog & chips special for the kids!


Friday, March 16th - St. Patrick’s Day Lunch

On Friday, March 16, 2012, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. we will be serving our traditional hot corned beef sandwich on rye, cole slaw, a pickle and house made Irish Soda Bread and butter!We’ll also have a hot dog and chips special for the kiddies! We take to-go orders….just call the club after 9:00 a.m. (860)633-9691 to place your order. To-go orders can be picked up in the upstairs hall.


Saturday, March 17th - St. Patrick’s Day

Come on down and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at the IAHS! It’s the best celebration around! We start early in the morning with televised football and hurling direct from Ireland (see our website for more information) and continue the day with great Irish music, food and lots of fun! We will be serving corned beef sandwiches all day and evening and a hot dog special for the young (and young at heart)

 

 

 

 

Seisiun Clan

Seisiún Clan - Summer Break - Next Seisium is September 7th

Live Traditional Irish Music continues every first and third Sunday of the month from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Come join the singers and musicians appearing each Sunday in this open seisiún. Listen or play along with the lively jigs and reels, sing a song or dance a waltz, a set or céilí dance or just have a drink and relax to the music of Ireland. Join the seisiún and good cheer for a good cause as well --- Our Club. A slow music seisiún is held on the third Sunday between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. For more information contact Greg Gregonis at 860-970-7135. This is an opportunity for new or aspiring musicians to learn Irish music. We will learn to play two tunes per month. Weekly Irish Dance Lessons
Traditional Irish country set dance classes are held in the upstairs hall on Wednesday evenings (except the fourth Wednesday of each month). This is a cultural function of the Irish American Home and there is no charge. the only requirements are hard-soled shoes and a little stamina. The classes begin at 7pm. Weekly Card Games
Every Thursday in the downstairs lounge at 8pm members and their families are invited to join the group for a friendly game of cards.
